Connection

One of the unexpected aspects of this project was sharing our intensities with each other. I find I feel less alone when I take time to understand what others are going through. Below is a list of supporters of The Intensity Project and their reasons for needing a portal.

By sharing this, I hope you might find something that feels similar to one of your lived experiences and feel less alone—or more connected.

Life with a special needs child is really, really hard. Sometimes I just need to take a moment to reset. The intensity portal helps me focus and process my feelings.

My portal sits next to my bed. It’s yellow which reminds me of the sun and happiness. When I’m feeling down or overwhelmed, I grab it with both hands and bring it close to my face. I let my eyes soak in the bright yellow. I take a few deep breaths. It helps. A bit of hope in the grayness.

My cobalt blue intensity portal is where I redirect energy in a visual way. Feeling unwanted or repetitive intensity around something you can let go of? Go on and throw that intensity into the portal, it can take it. (And it will compost it for you too.)
